Odion Ighalo has squandered a superb opportunity to score his first goal of the season early on in Manchester United’s Carabao cup clash away to Brighton.
Ighalo leads the line for the Reds again this evening after a relatively quiet showing against Luton in the previous round.
And the Nigerian forward should have given the Reds the lead inside 20 minutes after rounding Brighton goalkeeper Jason Steele.
Brandon Williams found Juan Mata in the left channel, who immediately slotted the ball through to Ighalo who hit the side-netting with his weaker left foot.
This wasn’t a complete sitter given Ighalo was slightly off balance, but we would definitely have expected him to hit the target from such close range.
