Manchester United are reportedly set to make a fresh offer for Borussia Dortmund starlet Jadon Sancho within the next week.
United seem to have exhausted all avenues in their well-documented pursuit for Sancho in this long, draining summer transfer window.
But according to Liam Bradford, United voice on BBC Radio Manchester, the club have not given up in their chase for their prime target and will go back in with another offer ‘this week’.
Bradford notes that there is frustration within the club that negotiations have not progressed to an advanced stage.
It appears that there may still be some hope for United fans who have been imploring the club to sign one of the most talented youngsters in European football.
But a deal taking place before the October 5 transfer deadline does not seem probable at this stage given United’s apparent reluctance to spend big and Dortmund’s insistence on keeping their star man.
Sancho could take United’s attack to the next level with his directness, clinical edge and adeptness at playing on the right-flank.
But even if United do secure a move for the England international, the fundamental problems within Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team will not necessarily be solved.
United require a strong, speedy central defender who is proficient in one-on-one situations to provide them with a more stable base to attack from as well as an elite forward of Sancho’s calibre.
