Jadon Sancho to Manchester United inches ever closer as the club have allegedly agreed to personal terms with the player.

The summer’s most heated transfer is in its final stages if the reports are to be believed and the newest claim in that regard reiterates what has been nearly set in stone by now.

Sancho’s desire to join the Premier League and United has never been in much doubt, even forming the initial crux of the entire saga. The latest report in this regard is more reliable given the flurry of activity in the past few hours.

As per the Guardian, Manchester United and Jadon Sancho have agreed to a five-year-long deal and other personal terms. The 20-year-old is set to make upwards of £250,000-a-week at Old Trafford as Ole Gunnar Solskjær seeks to make him the go-to world-class option at the right-wing.

This would be the second five-year-long deal that Sancho has signed as his move from Manchester City to the Bundesliga last summer was also penned to last the same period.

So far the official aspects of the deal were kept in limbo due to Borussia Dortmund holding out on a transfer fee. However, this report now adds that the entire piece of business could be concluded in an initial €100 million fee paid by the Red Devils over three years as well as a further €20 million in performance-based add-ons.

Further, it could certainly be ascertained that Alexis Sanchez no longer being associated with United could have played a role here. The Chilean forward was acquired permanently by Inter Milan yesterday. While the higher-ups at Old Trafford received no fees from the move, they were liberated from the player’s enormous wages.

This could account for the increase in Sancho’s reported salary which is higher than the one claimed early on in the saga.
