Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was in fine form against Liverpool as Arsenal lifted the Community Shield to mark another trophy under Mikel Arteta in a short space of time.
Jurgen Klopp’s reaction was spotted by eagle-eyed Arsenal fans after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang grabbed the opener in the Community Shield.
The Gunners emerged winners after penalties following a 1-1 draw after Takumi Minamino’s second-half strike saw Liverpool equalise.
But it was Mikel Arteta’s men who triumphed, to mark a second trophy for the Spaniard following their FA Cup win against Chelsea.
And it was Aubameyang who was the main man on the two occasions, scoring in both matches.
His one against Liverpool was a beauty, as well, cutting in from the left flank before unleashing a brilliant finish past Alisson in the first half.
And even Klopp could not help but admire the strike from the player he used to coach at Borussia Dortmund.
The cameras switched to the German manager who gave a slight smile and a small nod as if to appreciate what he had just seen.
Arsenal would hold that lead up until the 78th minute when second-half sub Minamino grabbed his first goal for the Reds.
That would take the match to penalties but Rhian Brewster missed his chance to allow Arsenal to win the trophy.
